Reclaiming space and adding comfort

This family needed more room in their 1930s home and we met that goal by reclaiming large amounts of unused space. We transformed an underused basement into a much-needed family room, full bathroom and modern laundry room. Space was reclaimed by upgrading to a tankless hot water heater and boiler which we installed under the front porch. A new concrete floor with in-floor heat, and a floating hardwood finish, added comfort and efficiency. The basement remodel featured craftsman style doors, trim and fixtures, meeting our clients’ goal to match the home’s overall design while exceeding their expectations for comfort and functionality. A later project transformed the third floor attic into a bedroom and provided the opportunity to air seal the attic and install insulation as well as whole-house A/C — adding additional comfort and efficiency.
